About
The UCT Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Unit (ADRU) is hosting a panel discussion titled 'The Case for (and Against) An African Investment Court' on March 5, 2026. This event will feature a distinguished panel including Prof. Won Kidane, Prof. Makane Mbengue, Adj. Prof. Lise Bosman, Associate Prof. Hannah Woolaver, and Jackson Shaw Kern, moderated by Dr. Faadhil Adams. The discussion aims to explore the future of investment dispute resolution in Africa, coinciding with the release of Prof. Kidane’s article in the UCT ADRU Working Paper Series.
This panel is particularly relevant for legal practitioners, scholars, and students interested in investment arbitration and the implications of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with experts in the field and gain insights into the ongoing debates surrounding the establishment of an African Investment Court. The event will take place at the Kramer Law Building, UCT Law Faculty, and will also be accessible online via Zoom.
