HIALSA Conference 2026 – Pre-Conference Masterclass: Arbitration Rewired: AI in Practice & Cocktail Reception

Join HIALSA for a masterclass on generative AI in international arbitration.

About

The HIALSA Conference 2026 features a Pre-Conference Masterclass titled 'Arbitration Rewired: AI in Practice.' This event will delve into the practical applications of generative AI within international arbitration teams, highlighting its current usage in live disputes rather than as a pilot project. Participants will explore the evolving landscape of generative AI in the legal industry, discussing the technical, ethical, and procedural constraints that arise as these technologies become integrated into cross-border dispute resolution. The masterclass will showcase insights from leading law departments on their experiences with generative AI, including the return on investment and expectations from AI-enabled outside counsel. Additionally, law firms will share how they are adapting their staffing models, workflows, and fee arrangements in response to these advancements. The event will feature prominent speakers, including Hugh Carlson, Benjamin Longlet, Robert Mahari, and Pierce Kelaita, with moderation by Millie Kim. Opening remarks will be provided by Mark Wu, a distinguished professor at Harvard Law School. Following the masterclass, attendees are invited to a Networking Reception to further engage with speakers and fellow participants in a more intimate setting. This event is open to HIALSA Conference participants and offers a unique opportunity to connect with leaders in the field of international arbitration.
